The sliding gate principle only requires low actuator thrusts. Therefore, piston actuators can be used although the performance is somewhat reduced in this case. A highly compact unit can be achieved by combining this with a specially developed positioner (top-mounted). Type 8044 is also characterised by its small installation space.
